Self-hosting
Run Clickroom on your own server.
Open source click analytics and feature flags. One command on a single VM, and your data stays with you.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/room-co/clickroom/main/deploy/selfhost/install.sh | bash
How it works
- 1
Run the command
The installer checks Docker, RAM and disk, asks for your domain, generates every secret, pulls the images and starts the stack. Re-running it is safe.
- 2
Open the URL
It prints the address when the stack is healthy. Use a domain for automatic HTTPS, or http://localhost to try it out.
- 3
Create the owner account
The first account created becomes the owner. After that, people join by invite link.
What's included
Click analytics & funnels
Events, users, and funnels in one dashboard.
Feature flags & experiments
Roll out, measure, and ramp, with flag evaluation analytics.
SQL Explorer
Query your own event data directly.
No plan limits
Self-hosted installs run on an unlimited plan: no quotas or seat caps.
No telemetry
Clickroom does not phone home from a self-hosted install.
Bring your own AI keys
AI features use provider keys you supply, stored encrypted.
Requirements
Honest limits: this is a single-node setup. It is lighter than a Kafka-based stack, but it does not scale out.
- Linux VM, x86-64 or ARM64 (Ubuntu 24.04 tested)
- Docker Engine 24+ with the Compose v2 plugin
- Target: 4 vCPU / 8 GB RAM / 40 GB disk
- A single node. No clustering or replication
- Optional: a domain pointing at the VM, ports 80 and 443 open, for automatic HTTPS
Free and open source
There is no paid tier and no hosted version. You run Clickroom on your own infrastructure, and you handle upgrades and backups with the scripts in the repo. Support is community-based, with no SLA.
Licence
The Clickroom server is licensed under AGPL-3.0. The SDKs are MIT, so adding them to your app does not make your app AGPL. The Clickroom name and logo are trademarked. Source and docs are on GitHub, and the self-hosting guides live in docs/self-host.
FAQ
What does it cost?
Nothing. Clickroom is free and open source, with no paid tier. You pay only for your own infrastructure.
What is the licence?
The server (API, dashboard, services) is AGPL-3.0. The SDKs (browser, Node, React Native) are MIT, so embedding them does not pull your app under the AGPL.
Can it handle my traffic?
A single node is the supported topology, sized at 4 vCPU / 8 GB. Multi-node scale-out is not supported.
How do I reset a password? Is there email?
There is no mailer. Password resets are done with a command-line tool, and invites are links you copy and send yourself.
How do I upgrade or back up?
The repo ships upgrade and backup scripts. See the upgrade and backup guides in the docs.
Can I use the name "Clickroom" for a service I offer?
The name and logo are trademarked. Self-hosting and factual references are fine. Offering a service under the name needs permission, and forks must rename.
